The yamaha YST-SW012 subwoofer input signal is a pre-amplified signal or a simple digital signal?

This sub is a powered sub with it's own amp, it plugs into the subwoofer output on the back of your receiver and the power cord plugs into an electrical outlet, it does not use an amplified signal.
